THE POSITION
The Supervising Librarian provides leadership and day-to-day oversight of a library branch or division. This position supervises and supports staff, oversees budgets and resources, develops programs and services, works closely with community partners, and helps ensure excellent service to the public.
As a member of the Library’s supervisory team, the Supervising Librarian combines strong leadership skills with professional library expertise. The ideal candidate is collaborative, adaptable, community-focused, and committed to supporting staff and providing responsive, high-quality library service.
The current vacancy is at the Rio Vista Library. The eligibility list may also be used to fill future Supervising Librarian vacancies at other Solano County Library locations.
Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Education: Possession of a Master’s Degree in Library Science or related degree from an accredited college or university is required (see Document Submittal section of this job announcement for instructions on submitting education documentation); AND
Experience: Three years of experience performing professional librarian duties.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
- Independent travel is required.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Class C California driver's license may be required.
