TheRobert E. Kennedy Library at California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly)in beautiful San Luis Obispo, California, seeks an analytic, creative, andhighly collaborative professional to join us in the new tenure-track facultyposition of Systems Librarian. The successful candidate for this position willbe innovative, collegial, and user-focused, combining strong technicalexpertise and collaboration skills to provide optimal stewardship of KennedyLibrary’s library systems, applications, and platforms.
Coreresponsibilities include strategic assessment, enhancement, and implementationof library technologies; identifying required actions for a slate of vitallibrary systems and platforms, mapping viable timelines and stewardingeffective collaboration to ensure optimal operation of those systems andplatforms; close collaboration with library faculty and staff directly engagedwith students and disciplinary faculty who use library technologies; andproviding leadership in collaboration with library, campus, and CSU partners tooperationalize and implement new technologies.
Thesuccessful candidate will be curious, technically adept, and highlycollaborative, with the ability to explore, propose, and steward theimplementation of emerging and relevant technologies. The successfulcandidate will proactively integrate considerations of diversity, equity, andinclusion in the technological delivery of library services and resources.Equipped with outstanding verbal, written, and presentation skills, thesuccessful candidate in this faculty position will communicate effectively andproductively with a diverse range of stakeholders and make scholarlycontributions to the profession.
Thistenure-track, faculty position is available at the rank of Senior AssistantLibrarian or Associate Librarian, commensurate with qualifications andexperience.
