Job Description

NoveList, a division of EBSCO Information Services (EIS), is looking for a Readers’ Advisory Librarian.

Responsibilities:  

  • Plan, create or coordinate, and deliver customized content for librarians and readers who use NoveList products via multiple channels.   

  • Create theme-based content in response to popular culture, seasonal events, and reader trends in order to present interesting groups of related books.  

  • Edit content (including recommendations) submitted by internal and external contributors for accuracy and to meet defined standards of style, tone, and grammar.   

  • Work with other NoveList staff on a variety of team projects that are designed to improve the book search and discovery experiences for librarians, school media coordinators, teachers, parents, as well as adult and juvenile readers.  

  • Assist in collection development efforts for NoveList products.  

 

Required Qualifications:   

  • Master’s degree in Library or Information Science from an ALA-accredited program.  

  • Experience working in a public or school library.  

 

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Knowledge of readers’ advisory principles and practice.  

  • Demonstrated writing and editing experience.  

  • Understanding of and enthusiasm for current and popular fiction and nonfiction.  

  • Experience selecting and weeding materials for a library collection.
