 Carol Grotnes BelkLibrary at Elon University invites applications for the position of Outreachand Marketing Librarian. We are seeking a librarian who iscommitted to cross-functional librarianship, interested in working in acreative and collaborative library environment, and eager to engage in thedaily life of the university community. This dynamic librarian willprovide expertise and leadership in library outreach and communicationstrategies designed to inform, engage, and build relationships with campus andcommunity partners. The librarian will promote library resources,services, and programs to create awareness and engagement with thelibrary, and the integration of the library into teaching andlearning at the university. Ideal candidates will have a demonstrated commitment todiversity and equity that will support the inclusive climatewithin and the community. Responsibilitiesinclude: ·      Creates andcoordinates outreach and high impact programming opportunities, collaborateswith campus stakeholders, and participates in campus events. Leadsoutreach efforts by identifying and developing strategies to enhanceperceptions of the library and engagement with library resources,services, and programs.  ·      Coordinates alllibrary communications to the Elon community and external audiencesto promote and deliver information about the library and itsbrand. Manages the library’s social media and online presence. Develops print and digital promotional materials that effectively communicatethe library’s mission, services, and news to a variety ofaudiences.   ·      Develops a marketingstrategy that promotes library resources and services to students, faculty,staff, and external audiences. Collaborates with library staff and campuspartners to deliver, integrate and assess the impact of librarymessages and brand. ·      Serves as theliaison to the academic programs in Art, Music, and PerformingArts. Collaborates with faculty in the areas of collection development,instruction, research assistance, and access to collections and information. ·      As a facultylibrarian, serves as a member of a collaborative cross-functional library team,shares in evening and weekend reference responsibilities, contributes tolibrary committees and activities, and participates in local, state,regional, and national professional organizations. RequiredQualifications: ·      A master’s degreefrom an ALA-accredited program in library and/or information science ·      Demonstrated abilityto communicate effectively across multiple formats and with diverseaudiences ·      Demonstratedexperience with social media platforms  ·      Demonstrated experienceand/or willingness to develop expertise in marketing and branding appropriateto an academic environment  ·      Demonstrated abilityto work successfully with others as well as independently ·      Commitment toprofessional development in the areas of librarianship, professional activity,and service PreferredQualifications: ·      Demonstrateddesign sensibility and ability tocreate effective visuals and visual layouts ·      Experiencein creating or managing events or programming  Thisis a 12-month, non-tenured staff with faculty rank position which reports tothe Coordinator of Library Instruction and Outreach.  ElonUniversity: ElonUniversity has built a national reputation as the premier student-centeredenvironment for engaged, experiential learning, with an emphasis on strongpersonal relationships between students and their faculty and staff mentors.Elon students are ambitious, creative and determined problem-solvers who arepassionate about making the world a better place. Elon’s 6,045undergraduate and 746 graduate students come from 49 states and 58 othercountries. Elon sends more undergraduate students to studyabroad than any other master’s-level university in the nation and the corecurriculum includes a strong global focus. More than 425 full-time facultymembers teach in six academic units: Elon College, the College of Arts andSciences; the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business; the School ofCommunications; the School of Education; the School of Health Sciences; and theSchool of Law.
