Library& Information Services (LIS) at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville(SIUE) invites applications from forward-thinking and collegial candidates forthe position of Online Learning and User Experience Librarian to support onlinelearning and diverse user experiences. Reportingto the Dean of the Library this position leads the creation and implementation ofbest practices and guidelines for learning object creation and assessment,including instructional design and accessibility principles as they relate toonline learning. The Online Learning and User Experience Librarian will provideleadership and strategies for the implementation a proactive, scalable plan tosupport and assess the library’s online learning initiatives. This individualwill collaborate with other librarians, teaching faculty, and instructionaldesigners to ensure library integration within the Blackboard LMS and will provideguidance for developing pedagogically effective digital content and assessments for the Library’s delivery of informationliteracy education online.This individual will collaborate with librarians to enhanceonline information literacy education within academic departments at all levels. The position willalso work in a team environment to enhance the development of Library’swebsite.
Minimum QualificationsMaster’s degree in library science orlibrary and information science from an ALA accredited institution
- Demonstrated knowledge or experience in the following:
- Creating online learning objects
- Learning management systems, such as Blackboard
- LibApps and content management systems
- Usability design and assessment
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong initiative and commitment to service PreferredQualifications
