Job Description


Library& Information Services (LIS) at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville(SIUE) invites applications from collaborative, innovative, andstudent-centered candidates for the position of Diversity and EngagementLibrarian. Reporting to the Dean of LIS, the successful candidate willestablish partnerships with the Office of Institutional Diversity and Inclusion(IDI), academic departments, student organizations, and other campus offices toidentify opportunities for collaborative programming. The Diversity andEngagement Librarian creates programs and services that employ high impactpractices to engage traditionally underrepresented student populations. To build and support a community,the Diversity and Engagement Librarian promotes library spaces and createsopportunities for academic conversations, research collaborations, and socialengagements. With a deep understanding of the challenges of diversity andequity in higher education, this librarian contributes to LIS’ outreachactivities to increase connections on campus.

Termsof Appointment

Assistant or Associate Professor, 12-month continuingcontract, tenure-track position.


Sourceof Funds




Minimum of$50,000. Negotiable dependent upon credentials and experience. We welcome earlycareer librarians. Salary is dependent upon post-MLS experience andcredentials. Excellent benefits program.
