Schedule: 25 hours per week:

                 

NATURE OF WORK:

This positionis responsible for coordinating and providing responsive and high qualityprogramming, reference and reader’s advisory services to patrons of all ages.This position will work at all library locations and out in the community.

o  Ability to prepare business letters,expositions, summaries, and reports, using prescribed format and conforming toall rules of punctuation, grammar, dictation, and style.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF WORK:            

The ability to work in an active setting, with the ability toperiodically use force to exert up to 50 pounds. The ability to lift, carry orotherwise move objects, books, materials, etc. using up to 30 pounds of forcefrequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

The employee is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions.

SUPERVISION:

Work is performed under the supervision and guidance of the EngagementServices Manager.  The individual hascontact with other library agencies and staff at all levels, and uses thenecessary resources to meet and achieve goals and/or objectives.  Work is assigned through specific projectsand customer/clientele request.  Theemployee is responsible for prioritizing work tasks, and for identifying andutilizing the appropriate resources to resolve a problem or situation.  Work performance is reviewed throughobservation, completion of projects, status reports, conferences and meetings.  Guidance is provided through the City Code,departmental policies, City operating practices and procedures, and otherresources as applicable to specific projects assigned.  Work is evaluated at least annually, withrespect to customer service, problem-solving ability and performance inaccordance with this classification standard.
