The Ellettsville Branch is part of the Monroe CountyPublic Library’s venues for service and outreach and is located approximately20 minutes from Bloomington, Indiana.
The Children’s Librarian is responsible for developingand providing programming and reader’s advisory for youth from birth throughmiddle school, primarily in the Ellettsville, Indiana community.
The ideal candidate has knowledge of early literacyand experience planning programs for children aged 0-12 and their caregivers.This position works primarily with children up to age 12, but also supports, alongsidethe Teen Services Librarian, the Ellettsville Library’s Teen Space. Thisposition will establish programs, services, and strong community partnershipsthat support reading and lifelong learning and a culture of civility,inclusivity, and compassion.
The ideal candidate will also enjoy collaboratingwith different groups within the Library organization and in the Monroe County community;will possess excellent communication skills; and will thrive in an environmentrequiring creative problem-solving and adaptability.
