Lee County Library System, is offering enthusiastic, community-minded candidates the opportunity to lead the team at the Dunbar Jupiter Hammon Public Library, in Lee County, Florida. This 11,400 square foot library, is home to the largest African-American book collection in Southwest Florida and serves the historic Dunbar community and its surrounding area. The Dunbar Community School, an adult education site hosting GED, ESOL, lifelong learning, and community events, is located next door. The branch operates with a staff of four (4) full-time and one (1) part-time employee and houses a collection of more than 34,000 items.
The branch manager is responsible for managing staff, collections, and operations. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who enthusiastically embraces public library service, demonstrates a positive attitude, a commitment to teamwork, and a passion for community outreach. We seek someone who has excellent interpersonal skills and enjoys working with colleagues in a collaborative environment, someone who can motivate others and be a leader in embracing and effecting change.
