Youth Services Manager with strong leadership skills
for Eva Perry Regional Library!
Wake County Public Libraries is seeking a Youth Services Manager (Library Supervisor) for its busy Eva Perry Regional Library located in Apex, NC in western Wake County. You will work as part of a management team at the library, and more specifically, supervise a team of librarians and library assistants who work in the Youth Services Department providing dynamic programs and services to children of all ages. As a Department Manager, you will also collaborate with your peers and librarians from across the system to create and promote quality children’s programming and services.
Key Responsibilities of a Department Manager:
Supervise a team of Librarians and Library Assistants in providing high quality programs and services to children birth through teen and their caregivers.
Work as part of a management team at your regional library to ensure quality service and efficient operations
Serve as the Manager on Duty as needed
Collaborate with senior management and/or peers across the system on projects and initiatives

Requirements
The Basics (Required Education and Experience)
Master's degree in Librarianship or related field: MLS, MLIS, MIS, ML from an ALA accredited program or NC program
One year of experience as a Librarian
Equivalent education and experience are NOT accepted

Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience)
Two years of professional public library experience
Experience with current Youth Services practices and trends

Strong problem solving, planning and delegation skills
Strong leader and motivator
Knowledge of current Youth Services trends in public libraries
About This Position
Location: Eva Perry Library Apex, NC 27502
Employment Type: Regular
Work Schedule: 40 hrs per week; some nights and weekends
Hiring Range: $67,728-$91,436
Market Range: 67,727.00 - 115,141.00
